Its been a while since I came to the forum, but Im glad I did. I come to find out that Yui is going to perform at 3 summer events. Is anyone planning on going to any of the 3 concerts, higher ground 2010, setstock 2010, and rock in japan fest 2010? I am planning to try to attend at least 2 of the events. I would like to meet fellow Yui fans.

August is too expensive to travel and I wanted to go to a YUI only concert. Am planning to go to the HITS tour venues in Osaka and Kobe BUT tickets for non YUI net members only go on sale on 08 August.... so until I secure their purchase, my plan's not solid!

I'm not sure why this thread is in the 'Site Update and Announcements' section..... anyway.

Release date for HITS tour for general public was 08 August, 1000 Japan time - that's UK time of 0200. I went onto the websites which are official distributors, had to get a Japanese friend to help me register becoz it does not accept people using english words for their names!!!

I stayed up until 0200, logging into the website but not being able to actually find any button that allows you to progress to the next page for payment and checkout.

My Japanese friend - who lives in UK and was also awake at this unholy hour - told me that the tickets can only be booked by phone, and this number can ONLY be called from WITHIN Japan!!!! We both tried to call and they were unconnectable.

Wouldn't have mattered if we could - the status of the ticket sales went straight from 'not released' to 'sold out' at 0200!!!!!!! :sayw Madness, early bird tickets for YUI net members had already exhausted the supply!!!! @@

There is an auction [ie black market] website where people are selling them for up to twice or three times the original price..... I was considering using this BUT the website pretty much says in the only english text that stands out:

DON'T LOG IN TO THIS SERVICE UNLESS YOU LIVE IN JAPAN AND SPEAK/WRITE/READ JAPANESE FLUENTLY.

Regardless, I AM going to Japan next month. :angry My only hope of getting in, which is a looooong shot is to go to the concert hall on the day and look out for last minute sellers...... I can't give up on seeing YUI live!!!!

HERE'S A WARNING: you don't stand a chance of booking tickets for lives in Japan unless you live there or know someone who lives there.

You mean this one?

http://www.j-friends.com.hk/New_J/ticket/ticketmain.htm

I'm not too great at reading Chinese - my own mutha tung! - either, but from what I've seen, it just provides links to those same Japanese vendors. The ones who've all sold out and can only be contacted within Japan.

I think I'll have to stake out the concert hall..... swear by the seven hells I'm contesting this till the bitter end!

Well, I went to Rock in japan festival 2010, and had a blast. Funny thing is that I only spotted 5 foreigners during my 3 days at the concert. I guess its not popular with foreigners. It was sensational to me. Of all the artist I got to see, Yui was the best to me. I cried during her performance. It was the best time of my life. She sang 8 sangs: Gloria, To mother, Summer song, Che.r.ry, Es. Car, Rolling Star, Tonight Tonight, and Good Bye Days. I really wanted to take some pictures, but security was high and I didnt want to disrespect the audience. But other than Yui, I got to see Orange Range, Sambomaster, Miwa, Yuki, Perfume, HalCali, Chatmonchy, Ore Ska Band, Capsule, Rie Fu, Dragon Ash, Seamo, Puffy Ami Yumi, and Polysics. Great bands and music. This event, made me want to go again next year. Is there anyone going to Yui's concert in Fukuoka in Oct? I landed a ticket to go and would like to try to meet Yui fans from all over. Im really looking forward to this concert.

What do you mean you can't go to japan by yourself? Its a friendly country. I love it in japan every time i visit. There may be a language barrier, but odds are you will find someone that can speak English. There are so many foreigners there. As for money, I understand that one, with a bad economy, its getting harder and harder to enjoy certain things in life.

Well, its a long story, but I'll try to summarize it. First things first. I currently work in South Korea. I've been in Korea for 2 years now. I've been a Yui Fan for 5 years. So when I got the opportunity to work in Korea, I made it my mission to catch Yui perform live. Luck would have it that I made a friend in Korea who happens to be Japanese. So, when I found out that Yui was going to perform at Rock In Japan Fest 2010, I asked her for help on buying tickets. She told me I needed an address in Japan. So I used my cousins address who is luckily married to a Japanese wife. So my friend help filled the application for a ticket 3 months prior to the event. When I got a reply to go purchase the ticket at a 7 11, I asked my cousin to pay for it. And that's how I got it for Rock In Japan fest 2010, I also did the same trick to get the tickets for Yui's tour in Fukuoka.

So unless you know somebody living in Japan, it is impossible to get a ticket...

Is that possible to buy it on the spot without a japanese address ?

It's almost a bad gamble to buy it on the the spot. Usually tickets sell out a week before the show. Only chance to get a ticket is through a ticket shark, and you don't know if it is a legit ticket or not. But if you want something really bad, you can find a way to make it happen. For one thing, if I didn't have my cousin in Japan, I have many friends that live in Japan. Some of them I met through the internet. I established many connections through my visits to Japan and through the internet.

I may be American, but I definitely don't look like one. The nationals in Korea and Japan always think I'm a native speaker. But its fun to blend in though, I can speak a little enough to get by and kind of survive. My heritage background though is a mixture of three races, technically four: (mother side Thai, Father side Cambodian Chinese, born and raised in America) But I'm not your typical American either.

Daegu - is that another spelling for Taegu? I know that Taegu is or was a US Air Force base, possibly shared with the ROK Air Force.

Only two weeks to go before Japan for me, I'll try to see if the hostel can help me get tickets - from auction sites if necessary.

MonkOfWar, are you in Korea now? Taegu and daegu are the same thing, depends on who's spelling it. The army spells it Daegu, and it seems the Air Force spells it Taegu. And what part of Japan are you flying to?
