So what do you think? Does it translate to this (or at least with the same idea):

Hello YUI-chan!

Happy birthday! This is tony.
How are you? I hope you are doing well.

I drew this for your birthday and I wonder what your reaction would be like when you see this. That’s me at the bottom of the page, dreaming of being in Japan and popping out of your guitar case as I give you a present! Though that sort of thing might be impossible. There is no way I can fit inside the guitar case anyway. But until the day that I graduate from university, I plan to go to Japan.

As I write this message, I constantly think to myself “what should I say?” But now, I think the best thing to say is from the heart.

YUI-chan, thank you for always inspiring people in Japan and all parts of the world! Your music always makes us happy and smile. I wish you more success with your carreer and to be happy on your special day. Please be happy always and smile!
Because I smile when you smile too.

I like YUI! I’ve always liked you since 5 years ago until today and always will.
Wow, I can’t believe it! Has it really been five years already? On that topic, congratualtions on the anniversary!

It seems like only yesterday when I heard YUI’s song play in the television. YUI’s hair was long back then and I was captivated by YUI instantly. I love all your songs and I listen to them almost everyday.
I think that the YUI five years ago is still the YUI of today.
YUI is really cute and talented.
YUI is the greatest!

And YUI is always my YUI.

Well then, this is the end of my message. I hope you had a little laugh or even a smile from my drawing. I hope I can meet you someday. Thank you and once again, happy birthday!!!! Cheers!

Tony

You shouldnt listen to me, since I only know a tiny bit Japanese (I can't read the kanji etc @@ ) But maybe, I'm not sure there's just one little point which would be the style of the letter. I'm talking about using chan (but im not sure wether it can be used for formal or informal) but you also use 'ogenki desu ka' which I think is very formal ne? I'm not sure how it works in Japanese but at least in my own language it would be kinda confusing to use 2 different styles, but maybe im talking sh*t :sry

Hmmm yeah it does look kinda out there. :sry
really, really not sure about this at all. Also, perhaps instantly calling/saying YUI with a -chan right away would be offensive on her part. I'm really worried about this 'cause the last thing I want is to offend YUI-sama. Plus the drawing that comes with it may also offend her (but not if she has a sense of humor, which I think she does, definitely!) but still a bit worried though.

And I've consulted with a friend of mine who knows Japanese and she said that my message (written in Japanese) might seem cute and childish. Whatever that meant. Hehe she said it's because I've got a few (a lot) of grammatical errors but that it's still comprehensible somewhat. ^^

But I might just send in the English version though. Hopefull YUI will be able to read/find someone to translate it.

@SoraHikari: still thanks! :good
@akuma_tsubasa: uwaaa~ thanks... but it's not that good. hehe :gboy

oohh sorry, i didn't see this... i'll try to correct it but not sure i'll do a good job xD
you should ask mrsean...

first of all, you may want to show everything... that "..." are cutting every long sentence... :S
well... if i were you, i'll change all the informal sentences, it's a bit rude since she doesn't know you and you may want to show respect for her. Aaand, i'll change the -chan's for -san.

Yes! AK-74 in Battlefield 3.

Stick with 'san さん' if unsure. 'ちゃん' is normally used by adults on younger children or by friends who have known each other for sometime. And don't use 'sama 様’ when talking or messaging to the person in question please! You're not talking to your boss or some feudal lord!
