Does anyone know what these Japanese loan words mean? I've seen them in various books and the Yui official score book. Will add more as I read further. Can't find these in my dictionary and no idea what english word they're associated with!

I'll add in the katakana words when I log in using a Firefox browser on my home PC.

Kime キメ

Moya Moya モヤモヤ [it's in the lyrics of 'Help', Tokyo B-side]

right, Ids... but they might mean something xD
like "chapu chapu" it's the sound of the rain or, like mrsean told us in a Staff Diary, "waiwai" is like "noisy"

Chapu chapu チャプチャプ. That's from the song 'Umbrella' right? I never thought of rain sounding like that. Only the Lord knows how Japanese folk approximated that!

I do recall that 'doki doki ドキドキ' was an onomotapeia for heartbeat to denote 'excited'.

ringring for bells and kaban for knocking sounds right? =P well if you hear a raindrop falling in a pool of water you hear something like chup --> chapu? =P I personally dont think 'splash' is a good word for it either, sounds more like a waterfall

Anime/manga always uses zuzuzuzuzuzu ズズズズズズズ for sound effects, like the shuffling noise made by someone sneaking up.

hmm... they say ペコペコ peko peko when they're hungry

i like more "chapu" than "spash"... japanese onomotapeias are more cute xD and i find it more understandable (that word exist?)...

吉岡 唯- chapu chapu

Those aren't loan words like スポッツ, ハンバーガー or シャンス.
モヤモヤ means "Hazy, misty, feeling sad, feeling fuzzy, feeling depressed, gloomy" (definition from the EDICT database)

and キメ... I think this is a native Japanese word, just in katakana for emphasis.

Groovy! Be so cool if the EDICT database was a free to use facility like Dictionary.com.

It IS free. Some softwares use that database (offline database).

Try this one for Windows. Although it's a bit old:
http://wakan.manga.cz/?page=download (uses romaji only)

...and this one is for Windows, MacOS X and Linux (uses romaji for english words and kana/kanji for Japanese)
http://www.tagaini.net/

I prefer the latter because it is an active project and is still updated from time to time. By the way, they aren't just dictionaries. They are study assistants as well.
