Dear YLs I know im probably not the most famous person on the forum right now... and i blame myself for that. we were trying to unveil something that we believed was amazing, however the promotion of it did not turn out the way we had hoped thus we are gonna try this again. with a better way of promoting it. and hopefully a more informed one. but first b4 i tell u what we are planning to do, let me answer a few of the million questions u guys have. 1. NO the forum is not coming to an end nor was it ever.. that was our bad way of promoting something but was taken in a wrong direction. 2. NO the forum has NOT been changed... it wasnt b4 nor will it ever be. yes a few banners and shout boxes were removed to accommodate with the embedded forum, but now we realized that an embedded forum was not a practical idea. 3. YES the fansite idea is still going forth... we are not giving that up... a lot of people were and still looking forward to it. 4. NO the fansite layout was not stolen or something for stereopony.tk, yes we were attracted by the versatility and the different abilities that the theme provided. but that is public theme is also used by 100s of wordpress users. and the owner of SP.tk knows about us using it. so here is what has happen and will happen ... the plan.. We had decided to finally make the fansite portion of this site. This idea wasnt just thought up by one person... nor was it decided and created by one person... it has gone through a lot of discussion and processed thoroughly by a lot of your team leaders.. this includes almost all ur Admins and the majority of your mods. we are not here to overthrow any old power like some people are thinking. this idea has always been the old admins, but due to time and limitations it was never created. that is why we did this... we worked together with all the old admins and mods to bring this idea back alive. so for all the people that do not want this change to happen... i have good news...... there will be no more change... everything that u are uses to... (the forum) will not be touch or messed with however the fansite is still gonna go forward... and progress will be made to YUI-lover.com I advise you please do not look at this as change. the forum is not changing.... it is getting an addition of new and more innovative features. so with that said.... let me tell you what is going to happen to the fansite and the future of YL.com currently it is down.. after the amount of users going to yui-lover.com our hosting had gave out and we are needing to fix and upgrade it... hopefully we will have it back up soon the changes that will be done. the forum will no longer be embed... it will be kept separate from the fansite and the button on the fansite will only redirect to the forum, thus solving the scrolling/loading/ and many other issues also a navbar will be added to the forum that directs back to the fansite. both kept with separate url for all the people that do not want to even experience the new add ons.. u are welcome to only save the forum url. the forum will always be as kept up as the fansite. the additions will happen gradually, no sudden switch overs like 11/15 thus we can work in more detail with fixing practicality user problem..... and u guys will be informed all the way. i want u guys to leave ur comments and suggestions.. but please be more constructive with your criticisms.... thank you |

Don't apologise -you worked a lot on the fansite, and we appreciate your work and the work of all the other admins and mods. It's just that the release of it din't go very well, it's normal! But it's going to be really cool when it's finally out ^_^ |

maybe you didn't mean it that way because i'm use to just the forum and everything and the sudden change was a big surprise and yet it was kind of not my thing but i hope the forum will not change as you stated above. For the fansite thing if you wish to continue please do so. That's all for now :cool i just hope everything goes well the next time. |

lol brad finally understand us! thx god! thx brad! lolx forum & fansite = two diffrent url :clap well keep up the good work at the fansite~ edit : well i remember i heard someone said that u guys embed the forum juz to fit the fansite style or theme right? mayb u could change the theme of YL forum... make it darker colour to fit ur fansite, change or theme won't affect the forum anyhow~ so wat do u guys think? |

i'm not really good with criticism/suggestions so all i can say is, good luck. i really look forward for the fansite to load back up. it's a great idea, well to me anyway, so don't be discouraged by harsh comments. you still have supporters(oh, and this is to everyone who worked on it of course, not just br4d). and i agree with the above, you don't need to apologize. you just wanted to bring something new here. you have my full support :good |

Brad, telling us stuff is good cuz being a community forum there is bound to be preferences. Thus I still think the element of surprise doesn't work for these kind of forums. Personally I like the fansite idea and having the fansite linked to the forum and not embed it would be the best solution. Keep up the good work and keep us informed. People will love you for that :) But I would have to say i was pissed looking at the "About" page without the rest of the mods and admins cuz being around here for couple of years I cannot tolerate them not being a part of this. But other than that everything can be fixed. So thanks admins and mods for the hard work. Peace. |

There's a total of ONE subbed PV in there. Yes, we're planning on having anything subbed included in the media section. I've been swamped at work, and haven't had much time to add and fix stuff, but the subbed PVs and many of the live performances are on their way, as well as the subbed YUI RADIO specials. The media section is very much a Work in Progress still. |

You don't have to apologise Brad...You and the other admins/mods worked hard on the fansite...It's just that it was too sudden for so many changes to be made and a few bugs weren't sorted out,hence the complaints.The idea is a really good one though,you can get latest YUI news from just a click without some random old thread dug up by somebody appearing on the YUI news forum every now and then.Keeping it seperate from the forum is a very good idea... Keep up the hard work,admins+mods! Otsukaresama! :clap |

The fansite idea was a good one. Hope to see it again! If I can suggest, perhaps someone can write the YUI biography in their own words? When I saw it, it seemed to be identical to the JPopAsia.com entry. |

Now that things are cleared up, I don't see anyone else apologizing other than Brad here. But what's there to apologize for really? Other than failing to anticipate the kind of violent reaction for something that is created from the love of YUI? Considering that these guys aren't experts and have to learn all about wordpress from scratch, I'll have to say the end result turned out better than expected! Of course there are bound to be bugs and issues but nobody said it has to be perfect on the first attempt right? ...Sadly, that is not the way some people think. Like MrSean, I did not contribute much either. But it's still a disappointment to see at how some people (over)reacted over the whole thing. It's fine if you hate something and don't bother to explain why but false accusations, insults and name callings are UTTERLY UNACCEPTABLE! The animosity of some comments bewilders me...Honestly, everyone should just refrain from jumping the gun and give your opinions in a CIVIL manner next time okay? Not given prior notice on changes isn't an excuse for being rude. >_> Now that the dust has settled, I think most people are content with the current plan....which is really not much different from the original plan right? I like the new one rather then the old one. I just don't understand why you people wanna scold admin and mods for doing this. they just wanna make this forum alive. I dont wish to see the forum return back to the times where YUI is still in hiatus mode. It is so quiet and boring. |

Yes. I think you do had to apologize. because YOU screwed up EVERYTHING and you SUCK!!!!!!! I HOPE YOU DIE!!!!!! Hey that feels great!!! now I understand why there was so many people doing it! ok talking seriously... I think the ones should apologize are others for being so immature in their reactions. We worked very hard and spent a lot of time planning to make YL a better place for everybody, not only the actual members but everybody who come here for the first time. We'll listen to every single opinion you have to say, as long as you do it in the proper way. Im 100% sure we are going in the right direction with this. About what tsunvun said. I do hope the old mods and admins could join and write their self descriptions in the about page as well... we are not planning to overtake anything or ever forget the ones who make the site what it is now. |

Im sorry but I really dont see what everyone is fuzzing about :what I mean first, the admin thingy, why would you give credits to admins who manage to show up once a year? :what No offence but it's true that most old admins have gone inactive... And i don't get why people want the forum and fansite seperate! As someone said before, the site is still called Forum & FANSITE... I mean, imagine yourself just knowing YUI for a short while, would you rather see a pretty unclear forum (which it is for new fans) or a very clear and informative fansite of our dear YUI? This isn't about us only, it's about the other YUI fans too! So, please tell me what's the reason you guys want the fansite and forum seperate, except for '' meh i thought it looked ugly' :rolleye |

Oh my goodness...... They are the reason you're able to diss them like this right here right now. They are the reason you are able to log in into this forum and enjoy YUI stories. They are the reason this forum exists. The reason they're not around much is that most of them are in the workforce now. So they are mature adults that knows their priorities. |

I think the 'Staff' there were those that were involved directly in creating the Fansite so come to think of it, it's not that unfair to have them properly credited. What we should do instead is create a sort of 'Hall of Fame' or 'Forum Staff' to properly give credit where credit is due. And to quote something mentioned in the previous thread,

I'm all for adding a fansite section. I only signed up here a few days ago, right after the attempted change over, so I'm obviously not an old-timer speaking from a viewpoint of years of experience with the website. I was a moderator at a very large, very popular anime website for 7 years, with three more years as a poster before that. Last year we moderators, after long discussion and careful contemplation decided to make a change to the forum layout. They were common sense changes and would have been good for the forum community as a whole. It was greeted with outrage by the old-time users. They hated the changes. Not because it made the website worse (it didn't), but because it made it different. Despite being in favor of the changes, the website admin had us change it all back. Because of that, nothing changed, nothing improved, and forum participation and new membership continued to fall. But at least the old-timers got to keep their status quo. I resigned my moderator status in frustration and became a far less frequent poster. If you believe the changes you are making are for the good of the website, then I will support you 100%. Im just expressing my opinion here & my point of view on this whole thing. No offence intended. It's not that we are against the addition of this fansite thingy, we know that it's for the forum's benefit as a whole. But the thing is, these changes were done by a whole group of newly promoted mods/admin without us being informed. Were these changes being done as a show of power or not, we dont know. And to make things worse, people start "boasting" bout themselves in some page with no mention of the previous admins/mods/original creators of the forum. But Brad & Fanny had already clarified this in another thread, so we're done with that. They can proceed with the changes and new addition, we will support it whole heartedly. As what Tsunvun already mentioned, these kind of surprises will not work in community forums like YUI Lover. Please at least inform us of things you're planning to do before you just change the whole thing by yourself, because the forum belongs to everyone and by everyone i mean, includes those small time posters or even the "leeches". They're just as important as the staff of the forum. - Peace - |

eerr first of all... let me clarify what we think.. (well wat i think, lolx) 1. we dont hate it. 2. we are just saying why is it slow, why the shoutbox won't work, the double scroll is anoying pls change it back. 3. why i couldn't log in! (tis is from me actually lolx) 4. the problem with the link well something like tis... we just say pls fix those problem while ur changing the forum! u want to change it? that's fine but pls make those problem dissapear!! we don't want a new forum that is slow, anoying double scroll and a not working shoutbox and some messed up link!!! if a new forum that with many new problem, why bother having it? turn it back to old one! test before u change not change before u test!! i know someone said "oh u know wat had happen last few week? the admin were test test test work work work" but at last c wat happen? there were so many problem. mean this is a rush work, so mean not enuff test and work are done. and in this world there some user called beta tester, u could ask some help from them! why just suddenly give us some noverber hint and poff the forum changes and problem were everywhere... all i say is... change is good ... test it out first before u change.. we want a new forum! but one without a problem one.. test out all the problem before u release it to public!!! make sure ur 99% sure of ur work have no problem before u release it to the public! the 1% is for us to help u make sure.... rant finish.... -__-ll @kikinos hey tis does feel good lolx!! Kakouyi, you dont even have a sligthest idea how much they have been testing the site :what They were testing everything over and over again so what you're saying is not based on the right arguments... Offcourse we all want the site to be fixed! But this accident that happend could not have been prevented. And what the 'we' you're talking about are saying is not only that they want the site to be fixed, they just dont like the idea of change and to not talk to eachother before we make sudden changes. |

The admins switched the forum back when we said we didn't like it,and they're working now to seperate the forum from the fansite so that we may retain this forum as it is and enjoy a new addition...All the bugs whatever double scroll bar,it's all a thing of the past.So let's not have an exchange of words on something that's fixed and already past shall we?We might as well look forward to the nice changes the admins and mods are going to bring us! :clap |

if crediting the leaders in the about page is the bulk of the conflict, u can rest assure that, that problem is, and always been solved. please dont let the way we made the about page reflect it as an egotistic or self promoting gesture. We honestly made it while still awaiting the majority of the leaders to post their profiles. ------------------------------------- from the day the site was half built all the ads and mods that were still reachable were informed.. and we asked all their opinions and suggestions and we did everything possible to let them be apart of the revival of the idea.. since it was theirs to begin with even aditz and shine were informed and provided tremendous help with different parts of the forum requiring the power of a root admin to do so.... in no way did i want to do this without their knowledge or opinions however, this idea was kept from everyone else to be a surprise and promoted in a mysterious and informal way that ended up being to what i refer to now as D-DAY. it was bad promotion and again i apologize for that. so with all that said, we are still in the process of getting the fansite back to let u guys view it... and this time for more then 15 mins. nothing is changed yet, so u guys can see our developing process. the more people on the fansite also will help us test the structure of the hosting... so it doesnt fail like how it did last time. you will be informed when we have it up. but please understand that you will be viewing the beta version. this is our only source of truly testing the site. and again like my promise from the beginning of the thread.. we are still keeping forum and fansite separate to ensure that there wont be further technical/personal difficulties. |
