I recently watched 'Cowboys and Aliens'.

It was okay, alittle cheesy, tbh. It reminded me of those old 90s sci-fi / action movie plots, haha. Good times! Daniel Craig is awesome in it though.

Sherlock Holmes 2 - meh, i only liked the train scene

Tin Tin - awesome animation, and great action town sequence it was all one shot....the animation quality was superb...simple story but still enjoyable

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - with Daniel Craig; it was intense...never read the books or watched the previous Swedish versions but it was good i loved watching the comparison of detective work and haha...how slow daniel craig is on the macbook compared to the girl

The Artist - a new black and white film...it was refreshing! i enjoyed watching this film it was nice to see a piece of work like this again in theatres. it was well edited and put together

If this counts as one film it would be Chance! with Horikita Maki.
If not it's Pan's Labyrinth. Somehow a very sad ending and a tragic storyline. When the girl dies in the end it's not sure if she imagined all the events as an escape from the bitter reality to protect her mind or if everything happened was real.

Cowboys and Aliens - yea this movie was a lil cheesy too but i thought daniel craigs performance was good

An Education - i didnt realli get why this movie won so many awards ... i thought this movie was very ordinary

50/50 - this movie i liked ... seth rogan was suprisingly pretti funni ...Joseph Gordon levitt was entertaining, he was awesome in 500 days of summer which i highly recommend watchin.

The Change up - i found pretti funny ... but storyline concept has been done soo many times similar to freaky friday that is the main characters switch bodies

The Inbetweeners Movie - based on the series the Inbetweeners, I watched the movie before I watched the series but I thought it was heps funni depending if it is your type of humor ... it has many vulgar jokes. ;P

so was it worth watching? lol

i watched A Dangerous Method with Kiera Knightley/Michael Fassbender/Viggo Mortensan? anyway...it was about psychoanalysis/Freud, Carl Jung and Kiera knightley's character....it was kinda just an awkward movie to watch

Viggo just smoked cigars and talked, Fassbender ate/drank coffee/made babies/talked, and Kiera was just awkward...awkward in the way that...it was awkward seeing her act this role?

it was just over all weird seeing these psychologists as movie characters.....

lol! the thread is still up,

Well due to a very busy schedule. I managed to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (I've never been to cinema's lately... omg!) The thing is, I watched it over a small town mall after my working hours, so it was in on a last full show, after my friend got dropped by, I was heading home alone, in the middle of the night riding a motorcycle. It was passing by the river side in the middle of the night that gives me the creep on the way home...

the creep of maybe someone was riding on my motorcycle's back... (a popular scare story in our town) luckily no one rode on my way home, but some stray dog did chase me so I have to go full throttle on midst of a silent night..

that stray dog did scare me lol!

It was a good movie. Well, I personally enjoyed it at least, haha.

Yeh, you kind of knew what was going to happen, but the POV camerwork was done pretty well, (not as annoying as let's say, Cloverfield) and I actually like the characters. ;]

I really suggest watching this movie. Its based off of a Murakami Novel. Its some what of a depressing movie. But it is amazing and beautiful to watch. Heres my review of it last year when i watched it.

Norwegian Wood, a move directed by Tran Anh Hung based on a novel with the same title by Haruki Murakami based on a song by The Beatles also with the same title.

A story set in the 1960s during a time of student protest of the established order (sadly i got that part off of wiki, i’ll read up on japan history later) a young boy, Toru Watanabe, is a quiet and serious young man whose personal life is in tumult. Toru loses his best friend Kizuki after he inexplicably commits suicide. Toru, uncertain as to how he should view life and as he looks for a new life, enters a university in Tokyo. By chance, during a walk in a park Toru meets Kizuki’s ex-girlfriend Naoko, and they grow close since they both share the same loss but as they grow even closer, Naoko’s sense of loss also grows. (again enough of wiki)

Everything about this movie is beautiful. The stylish 1960s setting with props and clothes are very accurate, down to the cash registers to the new looking Woodstock concert posters. And I have to express new because im tired of watch movies set in the 60’s with music posters that look ragged up and vintage, that just doesn’t make any sense.

But back to the beauty of this movie, everything is beautiful and seriously I mean everything. The actors and actresses; beautiful. The cinematography; beautiful. The editing; beautiful. The music; beautiful. The acting; beautiful. The 60’s style chairs and lamps; beautiful. The vintage now hipster looking clothing; beautiful. The bags and rucksacks the main character carries; beautiful. Every single curve and angle that the lighting hits; perfectly beautiful. The buildings and architecture; beautiful. The landscape; beautiful. The way the wind blows; beautiful. The way the snow falls; beautiful. (and im not kidding about these 2 parts, they are seriously amazing, i really want to visit where this place was filmed at) The completely sexual and sensual connection of the characters; seductively beautiful. The balance of noise and the noiseless between scenes; beautiful. The way the movie transitions between scenes with music but dramatically breaks after the transition; completely and utterly beautiful.

This movie truly must be watched. And must be watched in HD. I’ve seen plenty of Japanese movies before and how they try to work in this kitsch cliche beauty in their surroundings and it just gets boring. Like, why does this room have 45 vintage robot figurines sitting on the fire place mantel? Why does it look like an urban outfitters? And why the hell does the main character have to wear 7 difference colors, a beanie and commando boots? This movie is different, very different. Everything is precisely placed and perfectly natural and in no way it ever pushes the beauty at you, you just notice it and embrace it.

All in all, this movie is wonderful. Check it out.

i was debating which to do first, read the novel or the movie. I think i should've gone with the novel first.

We chatted about this movie on the irc but yea I had trouble following a long. The cinematography was really nice though but the dialogue was a bit odd for me but that's because I never really knew what Murakami's novels were like.

After reading a few, now it kinda makkes sense...but boy i had a lot of trouble watching this. it was to me just a bunch teenagers growing up dealing with a loss of a friend during some radical times, and psychological issues and sex...i had trouble appreciating this movie to be honest....I think the book may have been a better choice for me. =/
