*To Administrators/Moderators: I am aware that there is a "Why is..." thread out there: http://yui-lover.com/index.php?showtopic=5284 but for this why thread, I'm making this why thread much broader where people can ask why anything...anyway...if this thread and that thread are too similar I suppose there is no choice but to lock this topic =(* Miss being that little kid always asking "why this" "why that" "why not?" You can ask the reason for anything! I'm all about being RANDOM. You can ask a philosophical question. You can ask a personal question. You can ask a completely random and insignificant question. Whatever! Just see what the next poster answers! For Example: Person 1: WHY am I so beautiful? Person 2: BECAUSE you got plastic surgery! WHY is the sky purple? Person 3: BECAUSE I just painted it! WHY is Sid making another random topic? Person 4: BECAUSE he's bored WHY is the world round? blah blah blah... RULES: 1. Answer WHY question from last poster. 2. Ask a WHY question to the next poster. 3. NO inappropriate questions/answers Just for Fun: 1. When asking a question, start with WHY (caps) 2. When answering a question, start with BECAUSE (caps) I'll start!!!! WHY am I so tired????? |

dunno.. maybe because the old thread is too old ? and the thread starter don't want to do a thread necromancy ? well.. though i don't know that thread already exist, i still think we don't need 2.. better merge this thread.. why YL choose a dark themed layout ? MSS theme isn't this dark.. i don't think this dark theme would fit with MSS theme.. |

Of course we can say "live every moment like you are going to die tomorrow," but if you take out the death, what would that even mean anymore both in literal and tangible terms? I found Rudy Harrison's speech from the novel Philosophy Made Simple really interesting. To sum it up Rudy says that death doesn't have to deal with us because we're not going to be alive anyway when we're dead. And when we're alive, death has even less to have to deal with us. I just thought that was pretty neat in a totally honest way. Why do we need names and labels for everything? |

BECAUSE there is some sort of figure for every other holiday so it only makes sense that someone invented a big tubby man who invades peoples homes by going down their chimneys (and he miraculously gets in houses w/o chimneys too) and leaves presents behind.
