i'm confused, i found that there are two version of taiyou no uta, as i read in some sources when googling the net. one version says that Taioyu no uta which YUI play on it, other says Erika Sawajiri played Amane Kaoru in the movie. both has same story and same player name, but different starring names. is this just a misunderstanding since Erika Sawajiri's alias is Kaoru Amane which is taken from the movie? anybody please explain that? i never watch Taiyou no uta which Erika Sawajiri starring in it |

YUI version are different than Erika version. When you watch YUI version you know the story line from beginning to end. For Erika Sawajiri version it seems like it jumped around a bit. There are some parts in the Erika version that are exactly the same as the YUI version. You have to watch it then you will know it i don't want to spoil it for those who haven't seen it. |

This remind me of my first view of YUI in that movie, impressed by her talent, search for her songs, and finally found this YUI-Lover forum... Hehe, actually i look for the Erika version in the beginning b4 accidently found out there is a movie version... :sry :sry |

I also noticed that for YUI's version there is a cute part in it like when YUI stalk her lover in the movie. For Erika version I don't see it, It jumped around too much. It goes to present than past then is back to present again. When i first watched it i had a hard time of catching up. Overall Erika version isn't as good as YUI version. I"m not saying that because i'm YUI fan. Well you have to watch in order to know what i mean. YUI version 100% Erika Version 90% |

Er... then there's 2 taiyonouta comics and 2 novels... hahaha.. I have no idea what the comic's about cos i've not seen them, but for the books, one is the YUI-movie version, the other is sorta like the original Taiyonouta, that had a very nice ending too, and Kaoru in the book uses a Gibson, and she learned how to play the guitar from her dad. |

I liked the movie version more, especially because the drama plot was way too out there - but it's a drama, so I guess it has to be more dramatic... plus, I liked how the movie version was more of an innocent first love, very pure. both YUI and Erika did very well; YUI was a really good Kaoru, but you can't deny Erika's acting abilities. as for the ending, I liked the movie version more, cause I thought the drama ending was a little cliche and kind of random |

Have you guys noticed something else about the movie and the drama itself. YUI's version YUI play a 16 years old Kauro, where as Erika's version Erika play a 18 year old Kauro. Also that guy that Kauro likes in the movie he wasn't a criminal but in Erika's he is a criminal. With all the comparsion and talks about which Taiyou no uta is better. I think that YUI's version is better than Erika's not because i'm a YUI fan but because Erika's version is a bit hard to catch up and that is there is also a music singing manager in Erika's version. =P |

^: You must understand that if you were to re-tell the movie version of TNU as a 10 episode drama series, the story will not be enough. The writers had to come up with more dramatic events to bring more depth into the characters. Also, they had to change it because no one will be interested in watch a lengthened version of the same show again. |

I love both the movie and the drama! But I think YUI was a far better Kaoru though. The character seems to be made for YUI. ERIKA is a great actress and all, but I didn't think the character is meant for her. |

I think something had to be cleared..... both drama and movie are different.... though the drama story developed from the movie version.. about erika vs YUI??? erika : originally actrees=more in acting,less in music/singing talent YUI : originally musician=more in music/singing talent,less in acting from the difference we know both capabilities to each of them.... ======================== that's my opinion...I watch both drama & movie...we cannot directly comparing erika vs YUI.....it is actrees vs musician comparison...It better if we compare actrees vs actrees or musician vs musician..... Okay....????peace,dude...!!!! |

I'll watch it... and then post my insights about it, in some point, it is truly illogical to compare YUI to an actual actress, but still I think YUI's acting deserves a recognition, and from different point of views I was amazed cause wasn't originally a YUI fan, I became a fan before knowing that YUI is an recording artist not an actress, I became a fan after whatching TYNU my initial impression was; " this girl is so good though she's so young she'd taken the role just fine" you see I'm a movie critic, I was curious to know who this actress is, so I surfed the net hoping to find more of her movies I was suprise to know that she has a bunch of MV's and a whole number of Album records and thats when it hit me, I was more amazed and astound knowing that YUI is originally a recording artist but still manages to act her role as Kaoru so suave and flawless, so I fell in love, totally fell in love with YUI what an amazing girl. now I'll try to find out the differences between a musician and an actress, I hope I'll come up with a conclusion, thanks for the info! this forum truly is wonderful. :clap |

Yup. I saw Shinobi too. The main reason why i watched that movie is because of the main lead, Nakama Yukie. :D In the movie, Erika died to protect Nakama Yukie. I couldnt stand the first few minutes of the TNU drama and just closed the window. |

I haven't watch ERIKA's drama version of Taiyou no Uta yet, but I totally love YUI's movie version. It probably has something to do with the fact that I am already totally smitten with YUI even before I know of the drama version, but I watch a clip of ERIKA singing in Taiyou no Uta on YouTube. I totally don't like her. I think ERIKA's crap at singing. YUI forever!! |

i haven't watch the Drama version also, after knowing that there is a remake of the TNU (movie),i just get curious to see and to watch it... but after reading this section.. i finally decided not to look for the drama version.. not becoz of erika, is it becoz i dont like the part on the drama that the lead actress will be a vampire... that part takes the very cute part in the TNU Movie... 'First Love' of the lead actress to a very simple guy... Favorite part TNU Movie, Kaoro stalking Kouji..and doing her simple things to know the guy he loves..Weeeeee :suki :suki :suki btw, with regards to Yui's acting skills...no doubt she is very good, despite its her 1st debut in acting into the wide screen... and thats the first thing that captivated and amazed me.. that pushes me to know her better... Well,one thing is for sure... im Yui Otaku....and will always be... |
