I heard her japanese songs from animes like Bleach, Ju-oh-sei and KIBA.... (Houki Boshi, Te wo Tsunaide & Hakanaku Tsuyoku respectively..) Didn't know that she did korean songs until i checked in wikipedia... Her korean album: A Perfect Day to Say I Love You, is really good (GO LISTEN)... i can say that i like ALL her songs from this album... anyone wants a link for her korean album?

I cannot understand Korean and how to spell it.
It's much difficult than Japanese. honto ni><

i enjoyed her korean album quite a bit..i remember when it first came out my itunes only played YUI's CBML album + Younha's perfect day to say i love you album NON-STOP lol

her korean and japanese album are different...some people think her japanese songs > korean....but i enjoyed both...kinda diff styles but meh i still like them!

i LOVED her performance with Epik High and that song Love Love Love (she also performed Password 486 too)..it was funny how she messed up on the rapping part though...

the korean language is quite hard to pronounce ..but there's a lot of koreans coming here to live where i am...i worked with a lot of korean children this past summer and learned a few phrases but it was hard to memorize them.....though i hear it's the easiest alphabet to learn...but probably one of the harder languages to learn + speak

wow, someone else had the exact same experience as me! :good

and yeah, the alphabet is pretty easy to learn. it's all based on sounds (even though they've apparently got some extra vowels...). what's even better is that every syllable is written as a lump of characters. so every lump of characters they write has a vowel in it with some consonants before and/or after.
like for example, my name 아론 (Aron). it begins with ㅇ which doesn't sound when put in the beginning of a syllable (but sounds like 'ng' when put in the end) and ㅏ which is 'A'. after that comes the "ron" (ㄹ=r (l), ㅗ=o, ㄴ=n).
knowing that, it's actually pretty easy to follow in the booklet when she sings since you just count one character/syllable she sings. :) but i still don't get a single word.... :sry

Hey guys I listened her English covers. I wasn't really a fan of Younha but I loved her song for Bleach's ending 'Houki Boshi'. I have to say, she is simply amazing. How old is she by the way? She has talent written all over her! Any song recommendations? I want Pop songs that are less have less to do with Rock. And as a pianist I'm sure she has those songs. Right guys?

^ absolutely. :)
poppish with piano? i'd go with one of my favourites: Motto Futari de (veoh link), and also Ima ga Daisuki, Orange no Hatsukoi, Ashita Tenki ni Nare and Hello Beautiful Day.

but i have to recommend her slow songs, she's amazing at those. and i mean totally amazing, i get serious goose bumps by these: Aitai, Oh Neul Mahn, Sok Ma Eum and Alice. take a listen to Omoide Dekinai and Mafuyu no Veil too. and Homegirl, the first song she wrote all by herself.

for the rockier songs i recommend: Te wo Tsunaide, Hakanaku Tsuyoku, Diamonds, Delete, Rock Star, Fly and Password 486.

oh, and she's only 19. and she debuted when she was 16. now that's impressive. ;)

what's those english covers you're talking about? i haven't heard any. well, i saw a low quality video of when she played a short english song (and she seriously has the best english pronounciation of any asian artist that hasn't lived in west that i've heard), but i guess you're not talking about that one... or?

Oh wow! That Chinese song. Anyone who is Mandarin or has parents who listen to Mandarin music has to know this song. I'm from a Cantonese family and I know it.

Ideas are bulletproof.

GO Younha in Korean?
I have my doubts here.......

Well, she does have a better chance in the Korean market, considering how she was LARGELY neglected while in Japan.

So guys um this might seem like a weird question. But since Younha sings so many styles of music. Which one is she mainly focused in? Or let's say sounds most natural at.

"The music i want to do is close to rock with traces of pop music, but i don't aim for a particular genre." straight from an interview lol, and some people call her genre as piano rock =/
