Single Female Rant!; ..that's right

tadaima. Posts: 1,647 Group: Global Moderator Member #15 Joined: Dec 30 2005	Same as the man's thread, except we're ladies. :rolleyes: I'm single, I have been for my whole life. I don't usually get "crushes" but... Last night (Wednesday night, Valentines day) my show choir had a spagetti fund raiser dinner. So after that, my friend Sarah invited me to hang out at someone's house and watch a movie. At first, my mom wouldn't let me go, so I was like "Crap" lol. But then I told her that Sarah would bring me home, so she agreed. We went over Eric's (senior who's in show choir) house and there were 6 other people there, including this freshman named Miguel (yeah so what, he's only one year younger than me :P). So we watched this movie called "Simon Birch", which is about this kid who has dwarfism, and throughout the movie keeps saying that God has a plan for him, but no one takes him seriously, and he ends up risking his life to save a bunch of kids from a bus that was sinking underwater in freezing weather. Anyway, near the end of the movie when Simon took his last breath, Miguel started sniffling and wiping his eyes. I had been sitting next to him the whole movie, so I held his arm and laid my head on his shoulder and started crying too. I've been having my eye on this kid for awhile, mind you :P After a few minutes, he laid his head on mine and my hand kind of jerked cause I was surprised that he laid his head on me cause guys don't usually do that do me. So he lifted his head up, but put it back down a few minutes later. I felt so... happy. Sarah drove Miguel home first, and her car got stuck in his driveway (cause of snow) and we spent a good half hour trying to get it out. Miguel took a shovel and started to dig out one of the wheels cause it was stuck in snow, and I let him use my gloves cause he hands were freezing, and then I rubbed his hands afterwards to warm them (it was so friggin cold outside) His mom even helped us. So we finally got the car unstuck and we said our goodbyes. I hugged him and said thanks for helping Sarah's car, and me and Sarah got in the car. Right when we got in it, Sarah said, "That was so fun.. haha, I know it was bad, but it was fun". Haha, I agreed, cause it was kinda fun getting her car out, lol. I'm kinda afraid that Sarah might like Miguel too, but she's a junoir (he's a freshman, and I'm a sophomore), so yeah I dunno. And today something really bad happened to him that I can't mention (he's not hurt physically), and everyone in show choir was comforting him and stuff, and I didn't get time to talk to him. I just got to hug him a few times along with everyone else. The extremity of the thing that happened was so bad, that our rehearsals and competition was cancelled this weekend. Yeah, it's been a roller coaster these past few days. Haha, wow I typed way too much. Oh well. Bottom line, I want to get to know him more because he seems like he doesn't think I'm weird (he likes Avatar the Last Airbender like I do!!!!), which is rare. Hmm.. I need to get his cell number so we can talk.. AH SORRY, I'LL STOP TYPING NOW!! :lol:

Honestly, it's kind of hard to tell sometimes. When some girls flirt, you can't tell if it's because they like you or just because they are flirts. Of course, I'm not a flirt.. so when I like a guy, they can kinda figure it out on their own =P The only way you can really tell is see how she acts around other guys. If it's different that the way she acts around you, there could be a chance she's paying attention to you on purpose. I hope this helps!

I finished work at 5pm, and obviously since it was my mom picking me up, I didn't bother leaving the office until 5:30pm. Haha. So she arrives, and then she had to drop off some of her business products to someone, and the time was about 5:45pm. Which would be a problem for me, because I told Ryan to pick me up at 6pm. So I try to "hurry" my mom, and she tells me not to talk back to her. I have no idea how that was talking back, but yeah, she lectures me about not getting into a relationship with Ryan and such, and that there's more guys at there etc. Once, we arrived home, I rushed upstairs to grab my cell phone + guitar. I was planning to take a shower and change clothes, but the time was around 5:50pm. So, Ryan arrives on time :) And we head over to jap restaurant he suggested that's near his place. It was pretty good, however, I ate a late lunch that day, so I didn't finish my sushi. So, I let Ryan eat it. Haha. Hm, then we went back to his place. And he showed me his workplace, design books/magazines, cds, dvds and of course, his guitar mags. Then, he takes out Guitar Hero, and we played a bit of that. Gosh, I stink at that game. I bet all of you can beat me at it. I kept missing the single notes. Shrugs So after playing Guitar Hero, he shows me his 5 guitars :o - 4 electrics (2 Gibson SGs, 1 Epiphone Les Paul Custom, 1 HK guitar and 1 Larrivee acoustic. He recently purchased a Hello Kitty guitar, hehe. I played around with it, it's quite nice, and inexpensive too :) He plans to use the HK guitar when he performs with his band at gigs (to catch peoples' attention). Which is quite funny, but I must say, it definitely is cool! The thing I found so cute about Ryan was the way he showed me his guitars, he was so into explaining each one of them on how, why, when, what, where he purchased his guitars. Every time he finished his sentences, he would sort of look at me and then down at the floor. Since I brought my acoustic, we played a bit of guitar, and I asked him to sing/play one of his own songs. He didn't want to do it, but then I kept asking him, so he played it. His song sounded similar to Dashboard Confessional / Yellowcard. It sounded really coool, I guess it's only because I like guitar songs. I"m so biass.. Anywaays, hm, then we just sat on the floor and chatted. There was one point in the conversation, I told him about my mom asking me if I like him, and he sort of looked down at the floor again. I think I made him nervous, and that's when my mom calls my cell. My mom wanted me home soon because it was almost 11pm and I usually sleep around that time. So, Ryan drops me off, but he wanted to carry my guitar to my front door. When we arrive at my front door, I thought he would just put down the guitar to the wall, and leave, but he doesn't. Then, I tell him he can just put the guitar to the wall, and he does. But he still didn't leave, so I sort of knew he wanted to tell me something, but I really didn't want him to say it at that moment because my mom sometimes open the doors for me when I come home, and that would make Ryan and I very uncomfortable. My mom would start asking questions... ahh.. geez. I just said 'bye' to him, and told him I'll chat with him on MSN, and he went home. After 15 minutes or so, I took a shower and logged into MSN, but Ryan wasn't on yet. So I'm guessing he probably went to bed. I started chatting with 'rubberduck' (member on this forum) about the 'meetup', and suddenly Ryan msgs me. Yay. Haha. I was quite happy, yeah. He asked me if I enjoyed the meetup that night, and of course, it was a yes. Um, and yeah, then I did what I didn't expect to do. I wrote an entire paragraph to him explaining that 'I like him'. It took me 5-8mins to press that 'send' button. Geez, very nerve racking.. and this was on MSN, not in person. After I had the guts to click that 'send' button, I turned off the screen for another 5-8mins because I just couldn't believe I wrote all of that to him. My hands were literally shaking... it was worse than giving all of those presentations/critques in my classes at school. I finally turned the screen on, and Ryan says he actually wanted to tell me that 'he likes me' when he dropped me off, but I went into the house so quickly. I feel really bad for doing that now. :huhuhu But yeah, he asked me if I wanted to make the next meetup an official date... eeeee, Natalie turns all fuzzy inside at this moment. Haha, yeahhh, I said 'sure :)" And he asked me if we wanted to meet up this coming Saturday again, and that I can msg him on Facebook later this week on what we could do this coming Saturday. :swt :swt ...um, yeah, so that was my second meet up with Ryan. Um, gosh, this is a lot of writing, sorry!! Sorry, if it hurts your eyes too! :unsure:

BAD A GUITAR HERO?! C'est impossible! XD Gawsh, now I'm afraid to try Guitar Hero. Haha, I kid. Hmm, then maybe you should've stood farther from your door and said goodbye there. LOL. Haha...I did that once when my ex walked me home...although it was awkward because then my mom saw us from the window (WHICH I NOT THINK SHE COULD SEE FROM THAT ANGLE.) Official date, hmm? Ooh la la. At least there is less discomfort if it happens online. They can each just sit in front of their computers and smile, knowing that the person at the other end likes them too. ^_^ I'm really happy to hear about your news Natalie. You are both incredibly lucky people. I wish you the best of luck, breaking the news to your mother :) As I said earlier, so that Ryan doesn't get the wrong impression, it is advisable to discuss it with him and explain the situation. Wow this is definately a very romantic story.. haha it's like I'm watching a movie.. heheh.. natalie.. =) i think confessing on msn is actually cooler than in real life.. it gets so.. GRRR in real life.. so blushy, and scary XD :lovepc so I hope that you'll enjoy your first official date with Ryan.! haha! by the wa, what are you gonna do with your mom?
